Looking Forward to 2026: A Journey Through Transformation with Eric Cantu Remodeling

January 13, 2026
Need Remodeling for your Plano home? Eric Cantu Remodeling can do almost everything you can dream of.

As we step into 2026, the team at Eric Cantu Remodeling finds ourselves in a moment of profound gratitude. Looking back over the last year, we have had the distinct honor of being invited into your homes, the places where your families grow, your stories unfold, and your most cherished memories are made.

From the historic charm of the M Streets to the expansive estates of Plano and the vibrant community of Lake Highlands, our mission has always been to blend high-end luxury with functional, modern living.

Whether we were breaking ground on a brand-new custom home or stripping a kitchen down to the studs, the goal remains the same: excellence without compromise.

As we kick off this new year, we wanted to share a look at the journey of transformation by highlighting three specific projects that define our Before, During, and After transitions workflow from 2025 into 2026.

The "Before": Expanding Potential in the M Streets

Every great transformation starts with a vision to overcome limitations. Currently, we are in the initial stages of a significant Room Addition in the M Streets (75206).

  • The Project: A charming historic home that the owners love, but simply outgrew.
  • The Challenge: Historic neighborhoods require a delicate touch. You cannot just "slap on" an extra room; the new structure must honor the original architecture while providing modern relief.
  • The Vision: We are preparing to add a new bedroom wing. This involves careful structural integration to ensure the roofline and exterior materials, like the classic retro architecture found in the M Streets, match seamlessly.

Right now, it is a series of blueprints and site markings, but the potential to add square footage while preserving the soul of a 1920s home is what we do best.

The "During": The Art of the Build in Lake Highlands

There is a specific kind of energy on a job site mid-construction. In the Lake Highlands (75238) area, we are currently in the thick of a massive Whole-Home Remodel and Outdoor Kitchen installation.

  • The Project: A comprehensive transformation that touches every corner of the property, inside and out.
  • The Process: We have moved past the demolition phase and are currently in the "rough-in" stage. Inside, the walls are open as we update the electrical and plumbing to support a chef-inspired kitchen. Outside, the framing for a custom outdoor kitchen is taking shape.
  • What's Happening Now: Our crews are installing the heavy-duty framing for the outdoor entertainment hub, which will feature a professional-grade grill, stone countertops, and a seamless transition to the interior living space.

Seeing the "bones" of the new outdoor oasis emerge from the dirt is a reminder of why the "During" phase is so vital, it is where the dream becomes structural reality.

The "After": A Masterpiece Completed in Plano

Nothing beats the feeling of handing over the keys to a finished masterpiece. We recently put the finishing touches on a sophisticated Plano Kitchen, Laundry, and Bathroom Remodel (75025).

  • The Project: A total overhaul of the home’s most utilized utility and living zones.
  • The Transformation: We turned a dated, dark kitchen into a bright, modern culinary center. The "After" features custom cabinetry that extends to the ceiling, high-end quartz surfaces, and a reimagined laundry room that makes daily chores like washing the dog feel like a luxury experience. Check out the dog shower in the link above.
  • The Result: The primary bathroom was transformed into a spa-like retreat with a massive walk-in shower and designer tile work. What was once a collection of utilitarian rooms is now a cohesive, high-end environment that adds massive value and daily joy to the homeowners’ lives. The dining room was turned into a gathering spot just off the kitchen for friends and family gatherings.

Reflecting on 2025: More Than Just Construction

Looking back at the projects we have completed across the DFW area, from Old Lake Highlands to Lochwood and Preston Hollow, we realize that our success is not just measured in square footage. It is measured in the trust you place in us to change your environment.

We remember the kitchen remodel where a family can finally host big Sunday dinners, and the home additions that allow families to stay in the neighborhoods they love instead of moving. These are not just construction sites; they are solutions that improve lives.

What’s Next for You in 2026?

As we move further into 2026, the trends we are seeing focus on versatility and luxury utility. More homeowners are asking for "smart" laundry rooms, professional-grade outdoor kitchens that rival their indoor counterparts, and master suites that offer a true escape from the world.

Whether you are in the "Before" stage, dreaming of what your home could be or you are ready to start the "During" phase of a major renovation, we are here to guide you. Eric and the entire team are personally involved in every project, ensuring that the communication is as high-quality as the craftsmanship.

Thank you for a wonderful 2025, and here is to making 2026 the year your house truly becomes your dream home.
